Welcome to Slow Wellness — A Different Approach to Well-Being

Hi, I'm Melissa - A somatic educator and wellness entrepreneur.

Welcome to The Slow Wellness Club - a community for those who share my deep desire to make wellness a lived experience rather than a finish line I'm constantly chasing.

You and I are the same if you've ever felt overwhelmed by wellness culture, invisible in whitewashed wellness spaces, burnt out by the hustle of healing, or hungry for meaning and ritual in your self-care practice.

I created Slow Wellness back in 2011 from my own experience of burnout, anxiety, and an inability to cope with life's everyday stressors. As I started to make shifts in my mind, body, and life, and the people around me started to notice, I recognized that I wasn't alone in feeling forgotten by modern wellness and self-help approaches. What we needed wasn't more optimization, but permission to slow down. That’s when I started creating the framework for what is now Slow Wellness.

Slow Wellness is an accessible, inclusive approach to well-being for people who feel overwhelmed by wellness culture. It is a framework that blends neuroscience, somatic psychology, mindfulness, and ritual to support people in cultivating a slower, softer, and more sustainable relationship with themselves.

It's for anyone who's ever felt:

  • Disconnected from rigid or perfectionistic self-help rhetoric

  • Invisible in whitewashed wellness spaces

  • Burnt out by the hustle of healing

  • Hungry for meaning, ritual, and realignment

This isn't about optimization or perfection. It's about reclaiming slowness in a world that profits from your sense of urgency and scarcity.

What You'll Find Here:

  • Weekly reflections and somatic practices for your personal journey

  • Access to a growing library workshops, guides, and guided practices

  • A community of like-minded individuals engaged in circles and discussions

  • Science-backed insights without the jargon or optimization push

  • Resources that honour diverse expressions of wellness
